Carlos Tabora is a contemporary pianist and songwriter who brings a timeless approach to making music. Quite simply, Tabora writes songs that singers love to sing with dynamic melodies, thought-provoking lyrics and original concepts. Influenced by such songwriters and artists as Billy Joel, Diane Warren, Ray Charles and Jim Brickman, Tabora continues to develop his craft while performing his songs and piano solos at coffee houses and other venues throughout Southern California. He is originally from Chicago, Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a degree in marketing.
While he enjoyed a successful career as a marketing, meeting and event planner for various organizations in the association, publishing and financial services industries, Tabora moved out to California to pursue his lifelong dream of music. He is a member of ASCAP and the Nashville Songwriters Association (NSAI) and continues to further his music education by attending regional songwriting workshops and taking online music courses through SongU.com.
Tabora is an easy-going individual and is open to co-writing with other ambitious, talented songwriters. He continues to build his catalog of original songs and compositions and aspires to become a staff writer for an established music publishing company.
FUN FACT: Tabora's song, How Your Love Changes Everything, won the Grand Prize in Billboard Magazine's 11th Annual World Song Contest. The song was co-written with Gina M. Paoni and is featured on his CD: 5 Now, 6 Later.
