My earliest memory of music was listening to classical music with my sister and acting out what the music was saying to us.
Growing up, I listened to my dad's favorite music: classical, (a lot of the Romantics) Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Big Band (Glen Miller) and easy listening artists like Kenny G, and Jim Brickman.
My first taste of solo piano was Jim Brickman's “Picture This”. My dad had a cassette and he put it in our car, and we listened to it every time we went anywhere.
I think that Jim Brickman has had the most influence on my playing as a solo pianist. I still listen to and love his music. My grandfather introduced me to Yanni's music, and I fell in love with his lush and beautiful romanticism.
I've also been strongly influenced by composer/arranger/producers David Foster and Walter Afanasieff.
I started playing piano when I was 12, and shortly after began playing in church. I am completely self taught, though I've used many wonderful informative music courses.
I live in the beautiful coastal bend in south Texas, along with many of my wonderful family.
