A native of Atlanta, GA, John started playing piano in high school after being inspired by his musical father. John played sporadically for a few years, but things picked up in college: he joined a band, practiced rigorously, and studied under a remarkable pianist, Brent Runnels.
In 2009, John discovered pianist George Winston and Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek. Obsessed with these music icons, John became inspired to compose solo piano music.
Since 2011, John has released three internationally acclaimed albums, two of which have been nominated for Album of the Year at SoloPiano.com. John's music has been featured on film, documentaries, and worldwide radio.
A graduate of Oglethorpe University, John is a working musician and performs at events and weddings, plays jazz around town, and continues writing music.
